A starting point for discovering eastern Slovenia.
Forest Resort Blaguš isn't just a place to sleep — it's a starting point for discovering one of the most beautiful corners of eastern Slovenia. Just beyond the lake, a world of local craftspeople, generational producers, and landscapes worth exploring on foot, by bike, motorbike, or car. The Prlekija and Prekmurje regions hold stories you won't find only in guidebooks — you'll find them in wine cellars, workshops, local restaurants, and markets.
Take your time, turn off the main road, and let the place surprise you.

Coffee Place & Restaurant at Blaguš Lake
A rest with a view — and good coffee.
The Gozdna Kavarna at Lake Blaguš is a place for every hour of the day. It starts with a morning coffee while the lake is still asleep. Continues with house-made pizza after a morning swim or a bike ride.
Through the day, the café becomes a place for everyone — for families stopping by after a walk through the trees, for couples sharing pizza and snacks in the shade of the terrace. In the evening, it transforms into a place for friends, a glass of local wine, and conversations that stretch longer than planned.

Radgonska Penina
Radgonske Gorice
The birthplace of Slovenian sparkling wine.
Since 1852, Radgonske Gorice has been home to Slovenia's oldest and most celebrated sparkling wine — the Zlata radgonska penina. The winery sits in the hills of Slovenske Gorice, just a short drive away, and welcomes visitors for tastings and cellar tours.
Raise a glass with a view.

Kodila
A small producer rooted in the traditions of Prlekija. Worth the detour — and worth asking locals for directions.

Ptuj
Slovenia's oldest town
Half an hour by car, Ptuj is one of those places that earns its place on the itinerary. A hilltop castle, Roman history, and some excellent wine cellars hidden in basements beneath the old town.

Maribor
World's oldest vineyard
Barely 30 minutes away, Maribor is home to the Stara Trta — a 400-year-old vine registered in the Guinness Book of Records, growing on the front of the Old Vine House in the city centre. The city also offers a lovely castle, riverside walks, and plenty of wine to taste.
